Art Deco Revival in Boulder

A modern penthouse with timeless curves, mountain views, and curated style.

Set above the iconic streets of Pearl Street in Boulder, this upper-level residence blends sweeping views with an interior design that pays homage to Art Deco elegance, reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Meg Jonsen partnered with the client and architect from the early planning phases, helping shape everything from millwork to lighting to built-in furniture that supports the space’s unique geometry and panoramic outlook.

Project Highlights

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Living

Expansive glass walls and corner windows open to views of the Flatirons, blurring the line between home and horizon. Meg’s material palette and furniture planning emphasized warmth, texture, and visual balance against the dramatic backdrop.

Kitchen as a Sculptural Centerpiece

A standout curved island and custom cabinetry anchor the kitchen. It was designed not just for flow and function, but to reflect the homeowner’s appreciation for form and precision. Integrated appliances and artfully layered lighting complete the look.

Deco-Inspired Touches

Throughout the space, subtle nods to Art Deco appear in the detailing: curved lines, dramatic contrast, polished surfaces, and custom woodwork. These references never overwhelm. Instead, they create quiet rhythm and identity throughout the home.

Flexible Entertaining & Living Zones

Meg designed the layout to support both relaxed everyday living and large-scale entertaining. The main living areas offer flexibility and cohesion, while private areas like the home office and bedroom maintain calm and separation. Furnishings throughout were curated by the homeowner, adding personal style and character to the thoughtfully planned spaces.
